01Our principles
Two simple ideas sit at the heart of everything on Spring.
Be real.
Your profile should be you — the real you. Use your actual name and recent photos that clearly show your face. Don't pretend to be someone you're not. Be honest about your age, appearance, and what you're looking for. Photo verification is available and encouraged.
Be respectful.
Everyone on Spring deserves to feel safe. Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. Respect boundaries — if someone isn't interested, accept it gracefully. Don't pressure anyone for personal information, phone numbers, or dates. Consent matters in every interaction, online and offline.
02What will get you banned
We take the following seriously. Violations may result in immediate and permanent removal from Spring.
Harassment and threats
Any form of bullying, intimidation, stalking, or threats of violence — online or offline.
Hate speech and discrimination
Content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
Sexual misconduct
Unsolicited sexual content, sharing intimate images without consent, sexual coercion, or soliciting sexual services.
Violence
Threats of physical harm, promotion of self-harm, or glorification of violence.
Fraud and scams
Financial scams, phishing, fake profiles created to deceive, or impersonating Spring staff.
Anything involving minors
Zero tolerance. Any content sexualising or exploiting minors is immediately reported to the authorities.
Illegal activity
Drug sales, weapons, illegal services, or any activity that violates applicable law.
Privacy violations
Sharing someone else's private information without consent, including screenshots of private conversations. No doxxing, no stalking.
Spam and manipulation
Commercial solicitation, mass messaging, fake engagement, attempts to game the matching system, or creating multiple accounts.
03Photo and content rules
- Your primary photo must clearly show your face. No sunglasses, no heavy filters.
- No nudity or sexually explicit content in profile photos.
- No photos of minors (children) in any context.
- No contact information in photos (phone numbers, social media handles, etc.).
- No hate symbols, weapons, or graphic content.
04AI companion rules
Spring's AI companion is a tool to help you navigate dating — not a replacement for real human connection.
- Don't try to manipulate the AI into generating harmful, explicit, or illegal content.
- Don't share AI conversations publicly while claiming they represent human interaction.
- If the AI says something that seems off, use the feedback button or report it to us.
05Meeting in person
When you're ready to meet someone from Spring:
If someone behaves dangerously or illegally, contact local authorities and report them on Spring.
06How we enforce these guidelines
We use a combination of AI detection and human review. Our approach is graduated:
Warning
For first-time minor violations.
Temporary suspension
For repeated or moderate violations (7 to 30 days).
Permanent ban
For severe violations or repeated offences.
Immediate bans apply for: any content involving minors, credible threats of violence, confirmed fraud, or any conduct that poses an immediate safety risk.
We also maintain a trust score that affects your visibility on the platform. Being a good community member is rewarded. Repeated violations reduce your visibility even before a formal suspension.
07Reporting
If you see something that violates these guidelines:
- Use the Report button on any profile, message, or photo.
- Your report is confidential — we don't tell the other person who reported them.
- We review reports as quickly as possible and take action where warranted.
- Filing false or malicious reports is itself a violation of these guidelines.
08Appeals
If you believe a moderation action against your account was made in error:
- Contact support@spring.dating within 30 days of the action.
- Include your account details and explain why you believe the decision was incorrect.
- Appeals are reviewed by a senior member of our team.
- You will receive a response within 14 days.
- Each moderation action may be appealed once.
